Right to Information Act
To ensure a culture of transperancy and accountability inb the working of every public authority, the Parliament, in its Fifty-sixth year of Republic of India has enacted the Right to Information Act, 2005.
The Act comes into force w.e.f 12th October,2005.
The Act guarantees the Citizens their Rights to in get the information as may be required by them, barring certain classified information as specified under Section 8 of the Act.
In compliance to the Government directives, this Department also nominated the following officers as Public Information Officer (PIO) and Assistant Public Information Officer (APIO), who are authorised to take necessary endeavour to provide the information as sought for.
